Elon Musk Removes Blocking Feature for X Users

Users of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, will no longer have the ability to block other users. This decision was announced by Elon Musk, the owner of X, in response to a user’s question on Friday. Although the block function will be removed, the mute function will still be available.

The block function on X allows users to prevent other accounts from interacting with their own account. However, muting an account only hides their posts from the muted user, but still allows them to interact with the posts. According to Mr. Musk, it doesn’t make sense to have a block feature on the platform.

However, this decision could potentially cause issues for X with Apple and other app stores. Removing the block function would violate the policies of these app stores, which could result in the removal of X from their marketplaces.

This decision comes after Mr. Musk’s rebranding of the platform, where he changed its name to X and replaced the blue bird logo with a black X. He intends to transform X into a multipurpose app that includes shopping and streaming features.
